Darth Vader's world

In the Star Wars movies, Darth Vader was an evil force cloaked in black with an evil helmet. The Kepler space telescope may have just discovered Vader's home world. According to NASA. the new planet orbits a star ~750 light years away and is stranger than anything comparable in our solar system. David Kipping of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics comments: "It's darker than the blackest lump of coal or darkest acrylic paint you might paint with." [caption id="attachment_6342" align="aligncenter" width="575" caption="Darkest alien planet discovered (credit: David A. Aguilar for Space.com) "][/caption] It is unknown what makes the Kepler discovery so dark but extreme proximity to its star may create chemical reactions on the planet unknown in our solar system. More observations are planned to solve this puzzle. Darth Vader would have wanted his home world well hidden. WHB
