When contributions are given to projects, particularly environmental and conservation efforts, it is important to know how the money was used. Limited financial resources are best spent at the 'grass roots' level rather than 'Admin' purposes in an office.
The outdoor industry's non-profit organization, The Conservation Alliance (TCA), releases an annual accounting of how their projects expenditures has been spent. Every dollar contributed goes directly to the field efforts of individual TCA partners. Since its inception in 1989, Alliance funding has helped save more than 51 million acres of wildlands; protected 3,107 miles of wild rivers; stopped or removed 34 dead-beat dams; designated five marine reserves; and purchased 14 climbing areas.
