Changing the Story of 'Apocalypse Fatigue'

Changing the Story of 'Apocalypse Fatigue'

Per Espen Stoknes (credit: Wikipedia)

How do we overcome fatigue created by gloomy climate and environmental reports to develop positive actions? You change the story says Norwegian economist, psychologist, and Google-scholar Per Espen Stoknes.

The author has spent years studying human defenses and suggests altering the doomsday narratives is the best way to go. Stoknes says a simple solution works by creating new storylines that make appreciating and caring for the environment feel personal, doable, empowering, and fun. In the process, new economic opportunities, jobs, and success stories result. Most folks should be able to appreciate his positive, action oriented, and human-directed approach to addressing climate change and environmental restoration matters. Per Stoknes offers ideas about turning 'climate fatigue' into action for an audience attending his lecture at TED. WHB
