The Warriors of Qiugang

Environmental concerns have been growing in China. Rapid industrial development has resulted in widespread air and water pollution, desertification, and major deforestation. A recent documentary film, The Warriors of Qiugang, brought some of these concerns from the industrial heartland of China to wider public attention. Qiugang in China's Anhui province was a case-study in grassroots organizing to confront pollution. The film received an Academy Award nomination and led to the exposure of environmental abuse and citizen activism in China.  The film's trailer is here:
