Where To Find the Next Environmentalists

Where To Find the Next Environmentalists

6-year old environmentalist (credit: Skagit Valley Herald)

Where will the next generation of environmental advocates be found? They are likely attending schools around the world.

A 6 year old Washington state elementary student was moved to action when he heard of animals eating plastic while the passion of an Australian high school senior promoted tree conservation with a film he made for his graduation project. Such youthful pioneers are already doing good environmental work. More are likely be found participating in the Roots & Shoots program instituted by the Jane Goodall Institute to encourage environmental learning projects worldwide.

Such efforts are inspirational and offer hope to us all. WHB
