Altruism, Compassion, & the Environment

What is altruism?

According to Matthieu Ricard, it is the wish that other people may be happy. To the French intellectual, happiness researcher, student of the Dalai Lama, and monk, altruism is also a great lens for decision making, both in work and in life. To Ricard, altruism works at both the personal and environmental levels. His words at a TED conference are always relevant.
