We can all play a role in the climate movement by tapping into our skills, resources and networks in ways that bring us satisfaction, says climate leader Ayana Elizabeth Johnson. She suggests drawing a Venn diagram to map these questions: What are you good at? What is the work that needs doing? And what brings you joy? Where your answers intersect is where you should put your climate action effort. "Averting climate catastrophe: this is the work of our lifetimes," Johnson says.Marine biologist, policy expert, and conservation strategist, Ayana Elizabeth Johnson works at the intersection of science, policy, and communications to focus on solutions for climate change. She is the founder of the Ocean Collectiv that develops and amplifies solutions to maintain healthy oceans by applying science with community involvement.

Johnson says everyone can play a role in developing climate solutions by tapping into each of our skills, resources, and networks to foster results and bring personal satisfaction. Drawing a Venn diagram, she suggests mapping three questions: What are you good at? What is the work that needs doing? and What brings you joy? Where your answers intersect is where you should devote your climate action efforts. A graphic showed specific areas where climate solutions would be most the most impactful.
