Sustainable Oceans to Sustain the World

What is happening to the oceans is not good and it is not sustainable. However, marine biologist Jackie Savitz of Oceana, the international marine conservation organization, says fixing our oceans could feed the planet. In a visually dazzling presentation to a TED conference audience, the oceanic researcher explains what is now happening to global fisheries and offers smart suggestions on how to protect and restore the oceans that will benefit everyone. Ocean restoration is possible but requires correct attention, concerted management, and an understanding of the ecological basis that sustains fisheries and ourselves. WHB
