What Are Animals Thinking?

Carl Safina and Galapagos albatrosses (credit: CarlSafina.org)

Invited by Google to give a presentation on his work, ocean conservationist and MacArthur Fellow, Carl Safina, discussed animals from his book: Beyond Words: What Animals Think and Feel. Safina shares similarities between our minds and theirs, including the capacity for self-awareness, empathy, and grief. He presented his case for thinking about animals differently. Safina's findings are surprising and offer new reasons why wildlife and nature conservation should be important to everyone. WHB
